Welcome to this week’s edition of Truth Be Told. It’s (almost) officially summer ?? and that means a welcome slow down for many of us. School is out, many companies are operating on reduced hours and your inbox may be quieter.
?
But here's the big question for PR: Does this slower season mean you need to stop pitching? Probably not – but you'll need to be strategic. We believe that summer is actually a great time for a launch, under the right conditions.
Here are 3 things to remember:?
?
1.? The summer mentality brings with it an energy that is often worth capitalizing on. Whether it’s the break from the day-to-day grind or the increase in vitamin D, the summer heat can lead to a surge of creativity. That makes it a prime time to launch the next big thing you’ve been planning, then ride that energy wave to spread the news.

2. The news ??? cycle can be slow during the summer ?? months, too. With less happening, many reporters have more availability to cover new and different stories. In fact, they are often searching for stories to fill their schedule! And your latest news could be just what they need. But here's the key: Make sure it's actually BIG news. It has to be a surprising, engaging story.
?
3. Be sure to avoid the big holidays - Juneteenth, Fourth of July and Labor Day - to make sure your news gets as many eyeballs as possible.
If you’re thinking about launching something new to the media this summer, consider this your sign to dive in (and book a strategy session with us to make a game plan).
