Even though I haven't given a party or an event in a while, I am the "Hostess with the Mostest."
Back in the day, my apartment was always the spot for a gathering, be it a Girl's Night, a Birthday Party, a Kick Back, a BBQ or a direct sales party for lingerie, kitchenware, home fragrances, make-up, glassware and of course adult accoutrements. My baby shower, was hosted by others, but I was actually in the background planning it, was EPIC! My daughter's birthday parties, always turned into regular, all age parties. Guests who didn't even have a little kid came!
I, for a brief moment, considered going back to school and getting a degree in meeting planning, and/or becoming a wedding planner, but I realized it was too much work!
At work, I used to always coordinate the "extras." The employee birthday and work anniversary acknowledgements; the newsletter; the potlucks and holiday festivities.
I am the Vice-President of the Golden Gate Community Association, and if you look on their website, my brief bio that they, not I, wrote says that I am GGCA’s Coordinator for Special Projects including website development and community events.? I have a whole list of event's planned now that we're coming out of COVID. Our neighborhood was known for our events.
After getting hurt doing the position I was in for 30-years, I was reassigned to a position that was less physical, and one of the actual duties of the job was --- PLANNING PARTIES & CELEBRATIONS! Everyone was glad and said it was my forté, They also said during my tenure, they had the BEST parties they'd ever had.
I coordinated, with the help of a committee, the Black History Month Celebration for my real estate team in 2022. I have a quarterly "Sip & Paint, the Homebuyer Edition." I have a whole slew of events planned, some sponsored solely by me, The Real Estate Lady in Red, and some in conjunction with The Golden Gate Community Association. I formed a real estate committee and we have an event in June, and I'm on the planning committee for the Pistahan Parade & Festival in San Francisco in August, after all, I am, The Hostess with the Mostess!
