Ismael Hossain and Mina Begum are unusually old to have teenage children. They don’t know their ages for sure, but they guess they are between 60 and 70. Ismael Hossain sits on the bed and welcomes visitors with his kind eyes and sweet smile. He is clearly proud of his daughter, so he lets her do the talking. He can’t work due to high blood pressure and a ‘stomach problem’ - an official diagnosis given to him and many others in the community by a local doctor. There are also people with 'head problem,' 'throat problem,' 'leg problem' and many other problems. Ismael's wife Mina Begum is a maid and works every day from 9 to 5. She only earns USD 25 a month - the same amount the family pays to rent a room, which holds all their earthly possessions, including a mattress, cupboard and two toothbrushes.
