Hospitality - The long road to recovery
Business projected sales for the last semester of 2021 see a 9 to 11% increase starting with the beginning of this summer and most likely during 2022 if everything will be settled by the end of the year, but still 18% below pre-pandemic times. Nonetheless, future consumers are feeling ready to come back and off-premise opportunities have been a point of hope in these hard challenging times as everyone is looking for open spaces and natural environment locations, and healthy products.
My dear friend’s one thing I must say, none of us has any clues or right responses right now for all the brick walls the hospitality sector is facing. We all are learning in real-time as we go. But gathering humanity will be a start for new concepts and energetic atmospheres.
What hospitality looks like today? From then to now! How will we drive new revenue streams?
Outdoor dining under private Perches, Al Fresco style, Natural landscapes, Green Houses, there are some offers hope for independent entrepreneurs, too. Of adults say they aren’t visiting restaurants as often as they’d like 60%. Consider restaurants an essential part of their lifestyle. This number is higher among both millennial and generation Z 70%, they will the market segment to work on that brings some of the business concepts back to life. But on the other hand, operating costs will escalate.
Today the big business word is optimization.
Since its beginning, the restaurant and hotel industry has constantly evolved and transformed to meet the changing needs and demands of its guests. And today is no different! Whilst the hospitality sector has always been challenged to innovate, to be resilient, the recent fast-paced advancements in technology and delivery have catapulted the hospitality business into unprecedented change. Merge and listen to your neighborhood needs and wants. Governments no longer can keep staying as ghosts, ignoring the real issues, with the tax increase, allowing banks to finance instead of supporting. While these circumstances may well drive some to fail, they also offer an opportunity for many to rethink their business.
It's good for us or for the planet?
Starting as a necessity for wandering tourists, the hospitality industry has certainly come a long way. Therefore, before we can predict the future of the industry, it's important to understand the current trends in the hospitality industry like the evolving guest expectations towards less is more, organic and how it grew into the billion-euro industry it is today. Analysis before sentiments!
What will be the new food inspirations? What is the real value in food and hospitality space today?
Can really depend on the way or angle you will look at it. For the mass market, it might look like convenience and customization. For others, like me as a hospitalitarian, the real value of food and hospitality is fully aligned with transparency, humanity, locality, gathering with my global view while offering relief from daily life to others.
If there is one thing we have learned through this pandemic period, it is that embracing is the key to a well-being human experience and that food plays an important part in that equation. If we are to continue along the destructive path we lately dove, then we didn′t learn anything from these critical times. We’re at risk of negative outcomes because we’re all connected. Food is about conscious consumption and production is one important pathway to a healthier and balanced lifestyle and environmental practices.
So how to live? At its core is the question of how to eat? As conscious beings, we feel that there are good and bad ways to feed ourselves. Sustainable consuming, buying, cooking, and yet eating, for us has an inescapably ethical dimension.
I am definitely committed to this more than ever.

3 年This is a fact that after Covid the world woud never be the same. Turism in general is one of the sectors more affected worldwide. Recovering from this huge downgrade will be a very hard road full of holes to cross. No need profecies to see that costs will increase and profit margins will reduce quite fast. So the real numbers only will appear when operation will be running 2nd quarter of 2022 and cost will start to acumulate slowly. In fact all industries worldwide want to overcome covid negative numbers so prices of everything will rise. Thats how incomes will rise.
