To mark the occasion, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place in which Dr Uke Kombra officially open the auditorium.
The education secretary said he wasn't expecting the school board to name the building after his name but was also thankful and is happy to work with Hoskins Secondary in making it the school of excellence in the province.
