Horse Wisdom
I’ve been thinking a lot about horses lately since I am back in my hometown of central Kentucky. Growing up here, horses were everything.
One of my favorite all time memories in my life was sneaking out of my friend's house to ride our?horses under the FULL MOON at midnight!
Bareback, fast and free. Thundering hooves and the wind in our hair. There were no grownups there—just us girls on our horses.?
I have never felt so strong, alive and so connected.
There is a beautiful magic in riding bareback because it requires so much trust. You just hold on to the mane and grip with your legs and allow,?your body knows exactly what to do.
No one taught us how to do that. We just jumped on (we must have been only 14 or 15) and went with it. There was no way it wasn’t going to be wild and fun and amazing—because that’s what we believed and expected and trusted. I really don’t remember a bit of worry or fear entering into the equation.?
Just pure exhilaration.
I have been connecting to that feeling and checking back in with how excited I was.?
I want to bring that energy into my life and business. I want to harness it (pun intended, hahaha) and feel connected to source and have that sense of trust all the time.

It’s pretty amazing how much we stop ourselves and how far we get from that free and powerful place, isn’t it? I feel it in myself some days and I hear it in just about every client conversation I have.?

Instead of jumping up on the horse and and letting ourselves go for the ride, we want to plan, saddle up, put on protective gear, follow a map and have a guarantee that all will be well before we even leave the house.?
Or we postpone the ride completely, fearing the unknown, fearing the freedom, fearing the lack of control.
Oh, I am so tired of all the ways we get in our own way!
Letting myself just be exhilarated with the ride…. That’s what I want. And that’s what I want to help you create for yourself.

2 å¹´This is a great piece! He reminds me of young athletes who go out and do incredible things while they still do not have a fear in the world. It’s when they start listening to the “rational adults†that they start acknowledging fear. I was one of those kids and pushed the limit often. I remember after falling out of a tree and spraining my arm receiving the lecture from my mom. I looked up and smiled, “No, I won’t do that again. The next time I won’t fall!â€

I was one of those very cautious kids with overly cautious parents and embodying that sense of freedom is something I am working on as a 64 year old. It is never too late to let go and trust in yourself and your body and then I believe everything else will find it's space and place in life and business.

I love the word exhilarating, and felt that way last night while I was inner tubing with my friends on the lake last night as the sun was starting to set.
