HORSE MANURE
The Times this week had an ad for two UK Power Generation plants which are sitting idle (One in South Wales the other in Lincolnshire). Ability to generate 1,700 MW of power from Natural Gas ( LNG) Feedstock. Why are we relying on gas feedstock from places such as Russia with the reputation they have for invading places such as GEORGIA and the Crimea of UKRAINE?
Commonwealth countries such as GUYANA and NIGERIA are sitting on massive reserves of Natural Gas and are our Trading Partners. Much as we need their Gas they in return need our help to develop their economies.
A recent delegation from the UK into GUYANA - What did it achieve? Very little from what I can see. Guyana with its new found offshore Oil & Gas ( The New Kuwait) has a massive Shopping List - So why isn't the UK at the front of the queue - Asking Guyanese - Labour MP David Lammy and Anti Brexit Activist ( also Guyanese) Gina Miller and others???
Wales and the Welsh Assembly should declare to the UK Government that they want to establish a Pilot Free Zone Scheme under the UK Freeports but based on a different template Model. Using Milford Haven as the major LNG Gas Import Terminal and PEMBREY AIRPORT as the First Welsh Free Port Airport Free Zone

3 年The UK FreePorts are acting very much like a third world country in the development of their FreePorts Programme. How come Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are not included? - The two largest air gateways into the UK and they didn’t even make the list. Why? Why? Because academia instead of common sense commercialisation is running the show. Over cautious and experts with only half knowledge are driving the programme. What should have been a Golden Goose for Rishi Sunak and The Government to top up the funds lost due to Covid 19 has now prompted higher taxes, increased National insurance and higher Council Taxes and Gas and Electric increases. How stupid you all are - and so ducking stupid!! Yet, what do you do -,waiver national insurance for companies in the Freeports directly putting your own domestic industries at a competitive disadvantage - Crazy!!! Time to stop being nice and call out these idiots running a programme that will not work yet the Govt seem hell bent in spending money they dont have to launch an already failed programme. Brexit day was January 1st 2021 yet most of the FreePorts are far from ready (now Feb 2022) and even places like my home town Portsmouth (part of the Solent bid) are talking hype and bs.
