Horror Stories on Headfone - A unique and thrilling experience

Out of all the content we come across, what takes us by influences of surprises is horror filled with suspense and thrilling storylines. Even if horror shows create a sense of fear and scare, people who are fond of this genre keep watching such content repeatedly.

The subtypes of horror include supernatural stories, thrillers and psychologically created stories on spirits and ghosts. The adrenaline rush that people get after consuming horror content is the aspect that makers tend to touch while they create something terrific. The features that attract most of the audiences to watch horror include the tension that gets created while watching scary moving images and listening to terrifying sound effects, the mystery that is under the wraps of the suspense in the story, and the time-to-time fearful shocks that a user experiences.

Shows like 'Aahat' on Sony, 'Fear Files' on Zee and 'Ssshhhh...Koi Hai' on Star have been some of the favourite shows of the 90s and early 2000s. 'Aahat' has a fanbase who has made the show the highest grossing TV horror show of all time. Star’s 'Ssshhhh...Koi Hai' is a show that was best known for its dark stories with progressive storylines and was the pill to cure the audience’s boredom. These shows capitalized on the Indian audience's fascination with horror and the supernatural, offering a unique blend of suspense, mystery, and terror. Their success has paved the way for other Indian horror shows and films, cementing horror as a popular entertainment genre in India.

Classic horror movies like ‘The exorcist’, ‘The Conjuring’, ‘The Ring’, and ‘The Shining’ have been captivating audiences with their thrilling and terrifying plots, haunting characters, and spine-tingling soundtracks. These films have become classics in the horror genre, terrifying audiences for years. Indian cinema has also produced some truly terrifying horror movies like ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, ‘Bhoot’, ‘1920’ which have left audiences awestruck. ‘Tumbbad’ is a critically acclaimed horror film which is known for its stunning visuals, atmospheric soundtrack, and unique storytelling style.

Visualizing ourselves captivated by a horror experience gives chills to our thinking, right? To elevate such chilly experiences for the listeners, Headfone is the abode of numerous horror stories that transport the listeners from the real world to a setting of forests, cemeteries and abandoned buildings.

The aspects behind the uniqueness of the thrilling stories

The stimulation of the horror shows on Headfone comes through the kinds of words and language used to narrate the stories. Uncomplicated words and extremely relatable language gives a feel of a well-dramatized narration. As we all know, writing horror shows and enacting them is one of the toughest genres to deal with. There are high chances of horror shows going the other way if not performed well enough; especially in shows where the audiences do not get to primarily visualize the scenarios, rather listen to the shows. One cannot see the characters but can definitely feel the charisma that they inherently conceive. The quality of the show should be titillating enough to give the thrills to the listeners and Headfone keeps a check on that.

Another major point of consideration would be the background scores and crazy effects of the shows. Not too much or not too less, just moderate background music makes the stories even more enthralling and scary. Imagine listening to a scary screech alone in a dark room! Yes, that’s how it feels.

The writing skills behind horror shows are the actual gems. Fear and suspense are the right and left hands of horror stories. Including these two main aspects can make any horror story unique and thrilling. A game between not causing deaths and about to cause deaths is what keeps the listeners disturbed yet engaged. An atmosphere of terror gets created and it keeps the listeners at the edge of their seats. The climax of the shows are very realistically narrated, making sure the listeners crave for more.

Firstly, even if there are 100+ detailed episodes, they are just focused on the fear factors of a well-knit story and nothing unnecessary. Even when the narration goes a little beyond the summary of the characters involved, what comes to the focus is the way they speak about it. It is certainly fearful. Secondly, if horror is the main genre here, the subgenre here is drama; for example, the drama between and in the lives of two brothers who turn into fearful vampires in the series DCosta. A well-built drama can always keep the listeners intact. Thirdly, the plot-twists are the main bricks of suspense in the shows. They surprise the audience with a continuous flow of different variations in the stories.

The Best series: Danny, DCosta and Rudra

Danny is the story of a vampire who lives in Ratnagarh Palace. He is never seen around during the day, but whoever has seen him at night describes him as an unusually tall person with broad shoulders, probably no bones protruding out and a pair of ruddy eyes sunk in their socket. Danny has just one objective to create an army of vampires, and establish dominance in the whole world.

DCosta is the first part in the series that tells the tale of two brothers turned monsters - Danny and Cyrus DCosta. This show highlights how Danielle Dcosta, an ordinary man, became a ferocious Vampire. Here Danny is shown as a protagonist who is out for revenge from his brother Cyrus.

The third show in the series Rudra is the story of a vampire who was linked to the events from show ‘Danny’. Rudra lives among the people in a village Rajsamand in Rajasthan, without catching their attention. However things take a drastic turn, when murders start happening in Rajsamand mysteriously.

The entire series revolves around a world of vampires and werewolves and includes other supernatural creatures, such as ghosts, demons and witches.

The reviews of the Headfone users to these shows were so remarkable that it gave more than a million subscribers to the shows. The audio series provides such a different and amusing experience to the users that they even demanded interviews and web-series related to the audio shows.

Assortment of shows

'Haunted' is another horror show that has been loved by Headfone users. The story of Haunted is based on a girl named Reet, who after quitting her job as a teacher is appointed as a ten-year old boy’s caretaker amidst the hill stations only to figure out that the little boy is the abode of two ghosts. There has been a constant demand for next seasons as well.

Another highly acclaimed show named 'Udu' brings lauds for its character of the water-based, a uniquely presented ghost. The ghost makes a visit to the villages of Dholpur every twelve years and targets the children. Sonu and Jai are the main characters and the story talks about their plight with the scary ghost.

Under 18’ is another in the list of highly recommended audio shows of Headfone. The story about how a married couple, Devansh and Anshika accidentally run their car over a kid on a road trip and later seem to be ending up at a rustic and silent village where the tragedy awaits is spine-chilling.

A common thread between these three stories is the presence of children. Because the stories are based on child characters, not only did the audience make out the feelings of scare and terror, but they also related a personal experience with the show that made them feel that the characters went through unfair circumstances in the climax.

The shows are so well made that it is next to impossible to differentiate from the feeling one receives while watching a show visually and while just listening to it. Rather, creating a horror show for audio/visual purposes can be expensive in terms of the inclusion of VFX and SFX and can be difficult to get it right. But with the correct usage of SFX & music, it's very likely to get the Horror genre correctly in the audio format. Moreover, it serves both purposes. A well produced horror audio show can create a cinematic universe altogether that can make the users feel the visual imagery through imaginations.

When boredom would strike, the horror shows on the application can be your scoop of entertainment. Every little detail filled with thrills and insane experience is ready to provide more than what you can ever expect. Or you might just get terrified with the spookiness of the stories!

To experience scary shivers in your system, do not forget to tune in to the horror shows presented by Headfone.
