It started with a simple cab booking. On October 21st, 2024, I used Bluo Smart and decided to activate their wallet feature for the first time. While trying to add money, the app unexpectedly credited ?600 to my wallet. Surprised but pleased, I assumed it was a first-time offer.
Little did I know, this single click would lead to an unsettling chain of events. A few days later, I received a message from #Simpl, a company I’d never interacted with, stating they had added ?600 to my account as a form of credit. I was baffled—how could this happen without my consent?
The Nightmare Begins
Suddenly, I was bombarded with emails, WhatsApp messages, and notifications demanding payment of ?1200. Confused, I tried reaching out to #Simpl’s customer service, only to discover their customer service number doesn’t exist. Desperate for clarification, I emailed them, only to receive a reply four days later, vaguely stating the issue was "resolved." Spoiler alert—it wasn’t.
Bluo Smart Steps In, but the Horror Continues
Turning to Bluo Smart, I explained the issue. They were helpful enough to refund ?600 to the original source. However, I was still stuck with ?201 due to a consumed ?399 from the wallet. Yet, #Simpl continued their harassment, demanding payment for the full ?600, even after the refund was processed.

What followed was a relentless onslaught of automated messages, emails, and even threats about overdue payments. #Simpl never explained the charges or their shady process of assigning credit without consent.
