Hornet celebrates its second anniversary at IDEX 2023 with the delivery of its 500th RCWS

French leader of Remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) Hornet has recently produced and delivered its 400th flagship product, the Hornet Remote-Controlled Weapon Station. Total deliveries amount to 500 RCWS by taking into account Hornet Lite and Hornet S weapon stations.

That milestone is a huge accomplishment for the Hornet family, two years after Hornet’s official launch at IDEX 2021.?

It also celebrates Hornet as a key supplier of RCWS, with 500 RCWS produced over the last few years and 1,700 ordered in total.

To meet these objectives, a dedicated production line has been set in 2019. It has evolved since to integrate all new developments for the Hornet family. After more than three years of production, it is now a well-established, multi-product and flexible production line, able to receive orders from customers in a variety of models and variants, to fully match their tactical needs.

The Hornet family has expanded

Since its launch in 2021, Hornet has indeed been working on new solutions, all based on their RCWS and adding tactical advantages to an excellent base platform.

The Hornet family of RCWS provide with unmatchable on-the-move observation, firepower and protection capabilities, thanks to their high-end optronics, stabilization and integration of GALIX smoke grenade launcher. The Hornet turrets are incomparably more accurate than a circular-mounted weapon, particularly in movement. They are gyro-stabilised from the optronic unit, which gives them exceptional stability and accuracy.

The probability of hitting on the first shot is enhanced by a sophisticated ballistic solution calculation system that takes into account various parameters such as weapon, ammunition type, range, target movement and vehicle behaviour. These different capabilities allow for the reduction of ammunition carriage where necessary, while still allowing for superior tactical effects and protecting the gunner.

They are also excellent platforms for further capabilities, which offer tactical supremacy on the battlefield. These capabilities are now on display.
