The Horizon event: unexpected lessons from the UK Post Office Scandal
Each week, our Cyber Series will go behind the headlines to look in-depth at an issue that’s shaping our digital world. In this first entry, I explore the numerous challenges that Post Office Horizon software scandal presents, which touch on far more aspects of the modern business world than simply 'a computer system gone wrong'.
Learning from this scandal is not just about fixing past mistakes; it's about setting a new standard for corporate responsibility and integrity. It is incumbent upon leaders to reflect on these lessons and implement changes that safeguard against similar failures in future, thereby justifying stakeholder trust and upholding the values of fairness and accountability in their daily operations.

10 个月Great article Martin, highlighting many of the issues that have contributed to this scandal - for me it comes back to the governance, leadership and behaviours of senior people which ultimately influences the behaviours of others who are following orders.

10 个月Thanks Martin for continued coverage of this scandal. I doubt this sentence will surprise many in the eDiscovery business: unfortunately its all too common to encounter "It is now clear that the Post Office did not have a system in place for producing relevant electronic files in a timely fashion, and it is unlikely to be the only large organisation unable to meet its legal disclosure obligations when required to.?"
