The Positive Review is a LinkedIn exclusive series of articles focusing on emphasizing 5 positive, fun and engaging facts of modern and classic games.
These articles are based on my personal opinion and are not related whatsoever with my relationships with any employers/partners.
?? Full immersion. One of the key aspects of gaming is creating an experience that is immersive and fun. Because of the high visual fidelity of this game and amazing VR technology of the PSVR2, it really felt like I was climbing mountains and fighting robot dinosaurs. In my experience, no other game has provided this level of immersion. ?
?? No more motion sickness. The first time I played this game, I was extremely dizzy after 5 minutes and felt bad for the rest of the day. But because I liked the experience so much, I needed to train my body to accept VR. I played the game for shorter sessions every day and eventually I was able to play for one hour or more without any motion sickness at all.
?? I felt like a professional archer. I still don’t know what kind of tech wizardry they did here, but using the bow and arrow felt really nice. Even during the first gameplay sessions, I was able to quickly draw my bow and shoot arrows exactly where I wanted. By the time I reached the final stages, I didn't even need special arrows to destroy enemies because I was able to "quick draw" many regular arrows in sequence. This was extremely satisfying.

???I overcame my fear of heights. I am afraid of heights and I couldn't play this game because my legs were trembling every time I looked down from a high place (which happens almost all the time, by the way). According to my untrained VR brain, climbing realistic virtual mountains was a life-threatening activity and my body reacted accordingly. Little by little, as I forced myself to play and look down whenever possible, the fear of heights was getting milder. After a few weeks, the fear was gone and I could fully enjoy the experience.?
????The game looks absolutely fantastic. It’s not only about the great VR implementation, though. Forests, mountains, waterfalls, caves, and rivers are extremely detailed, even looking at close distance. The developers know that and they gift you with amazing details such as butterflies that look very real and even the most amazing first person "hands" in any game I've ever played. Horizon Call of the Mountain is an astonishingly beautiful digital world.
What about you? Have you tried any PSVR2 game yet?
