HOPES DREAMS AND GRATITUDE
I had a great catch-up with one of my clients this week who was telling me how excited she was to be starting her new role.
She remarked that she found it strange that since she had secured her new role she felt a visceral shift in how she felt about herself but also how people in her current workplace were reacting to her.
The employer had taken her for granted and had ignored her expressions of interest to be developed and promoted. They had even told her that she was not quite ready and did not have enough experience.
I am sure many of you who are currently feeling stuck in your current role will have heard this excuse from your employer before. It is nonsense. It is an excuse to keep you pinned where you are not aligned. No person or organisation has any right to do that.
You are the captain of your ship
You are ready to develop and move up the corporate ladder as soon as you feel your current position is not serving your career and life goals. Once you decide it is the right path for you it is time to start making moves. It is from here that you can set the scope of the actions you need to take to step into your next level opportunity. You may need support to do this but the most important takeaway from this is to just start.
Fast forward to her signing up for 'Career Elevator' Application support. The initial discussion involved exploring career aspirations and possibilities of stepping into an elevated opportunity that offered a fulfilling role, career progression, and a salary increase thus empowering the possibility of living a better life.
The process from initial discussions to job offers took less than a month. Three weeks to be exact. Three applications resulted in three invitations to interview, one job offer at a higher grade and a salary increase.
She said, "I still cannot believe that it only took three weeks!"
Never let anyone tell you that your dreams are too big
I replied, "Acknowledge, accept and step boldly into the career pathway and life you envisioned for yourself"
"No need to overthink as it is done. At least you now have the blueprint and know that going forward, you have the autonomy to curate the career you want for yourself."
"By the way," she said " Since handing in my notice the manager has asked me to reconsider and expressed concerns about whether I am making the right decision. They also said if I was to stay they may be able to offer me another role"
HUH! Hmmmm
Anyway, I digress.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to utilise my knowledge skills and experience to support individuals to remove themselves from work situations where they are constantly overlooked, feel stagnated and in despair of ever achieving their career and life goals.
I started my journey to become a Career Coach from that place. knowing what it feels like to have to summon up the courage to go to work every day knowing that the day would be filled with being belittled humiliated and treated as not good enough. knowing what it feels like to see hopes and dreams wither away as career aspirations are put on the back burner to survive. Knowing what it feels like to sit in the midst of unfulfillment trying to hold back the tears as you look around and ask yourself the most profound self-reflective question
"IS THIS IT?"
I do what I do so you don't have to dwell in that space. I would like you to know that you do not have to let go of your hopes and dreams. The life you want is ready for you to curate.
I feel blessed privileged and grateful to have the opportunity to support you to land your next level opportunity as I did for this client.
Are you ready to unlock the code to your next level opportunity?
