There is a lot of excitement surrounding 4K TVs and projectors, particularly when combined with a higher range of color and contrast. 4K promises a spectacular picture.
But where does that leave your 1080p TV or projector? Should you succumb to the marketing pressure to upgrade to a 4K display in order to get a great picture?
Perhaps, perhaps not.
If you put two displays side-by-side, one with a better contrast ratio and more accurate color, and the other with higher resolution (4K), pretty much everyone will prefer the first display. That display will look more natural, more "life-like."
So…more pixels (4K) is pretty cool, but better pixels is VERY cool.
Having a calibration performed on your display optimizes the contrast and color, bringing you closer to the performance the directors and producers wanted you to see.
Give me a call (515-661-8941) and we can discuss whether a calibration is right for your TV or projector.
