HOPE when we're feeling gray!!

Sometimes a winter chill blows through our soul. Financial concerns, health, family, friend's issues, work problems — their icy flakes drift through in our mind, blurring our perspective, our focus.
We soon became a petulant child before the Lord, temper tantrum, foot stomping, near tears. The still small voice in our heart whispering the words:
Help, Lord.
I stepped outside and snapped a picture, treasuring the gift of light God whispered into my soul. As I looked toward the darkened sky, the tears dampened my, and in that moment I remembered that:
Light shines in our darkest places.
This is how we thrive in our hard places; The Light shining in us and through us, lighting up a dark world.
The heaviness in my chest lifted as I said the words:
“That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:5
Darkness will try to invade my hard days. We can choose to give in to the dark or we can choose The Light.
The Light Is where we will thrive in our brokenness and pain.
Gray days will come. But we don’t have to allow them to overcome.
No !!! we belong to the Overcome.
“I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace” (John 16:33 MSG).
God can and will use this experience for good in our life.
“Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.”
― Helen Keller
We may want to argue, ignore, or shout against our circumstances, but believe that God is working in our life.
God does something marvelous in us when, despite our pain, we remain consistent in our desire to trust Him.
He teaches us new dimensions to prayer when we feel alone, patience when our world feels out of control, goodness and gentleness when we would rather lash out, and a hope that can never be broken.
God will not waste even this difficult time. Whether He engineered it or not, He will redeem this circumstance and turn it into a gift.
“Laughter is a sunbeam of the soul.”
So, drying my tears, I smiled again, and thanked God for the gray days, because they allow us to admire the sunny days, and enjoy them to the fullest.
...and I raised a prayer to heaven, for you and for me.
Father, I pray today for all heart broken and weary suffering in their pain, that you would shine our light into our dark places.
I ask that you would open our eyes to see You, to see Your Light.
Without You, we are nothing.
Thank you for Your Light.
Amen.
Failing and learning to deal with discouragement in a healthy and productive way is a sort of litmus test for successful people.
So if life every gets us down, and we don’t feel like we can succeed at what we’re currently doing, we need remember that this can be a turning point in our eventual success story.
