Hope for today, recovery for the long haul
Welcome back! In the middle of a season full of changes and uncertainties, we can still be a part of bringing healing and hope to our community and around the world. This week, we’re covering how neighbors are stepping up to help those impacted by the California wildfires, how a meal is a starting point for a child’s future, and a few stories that inspired us on social media.
California wildfires response
The journey to rebuild from the California wildfires has just begun as residents wrestle with the reality of what they have lost — and what remains.?
Local firefighters are still working tirelessly to contain the flames that have now burned tens of thousands of acres and take on a new fire, the Hughes fire. Many of the residents will have no home to return to, and many more are facing the loss of businesses and employment.?
With your help, Convoy of Hope has distributed more than 600,000 pounds of product — food, water, hygiene items, air purifiers, and more — to help rebuild what was lost.???
Here’s a look at the scope of the damage and how Convoy of Hope is bringing tangible hope in the midst of it:
That is why your help is so crucial.?
Together we can make a path toward a better tomorrow for those who have been impacted. By making a gift of support, you’re directly uplifting people’s hearts and minds. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
Kevin is reaching his goals
What comes to mind when you think of a hot, nutritious meal??
For Kevin, a participant in Convoy’s Children’s Feeding program in the Philippines, that meal is fuel for his dream to become a professional soccer player.?
Before joining the program, Kevin didn’t have proper access to nutritious meals. But now, he rests knowing that he and his classmates will enjoy a meal every school day — and he can play soccer more.?
“My favorite food[s are] chicken curry, pinakbet, and fried fish,” Kevin said. “I also love eating vegetables, especially alugbati (Malabar spinach) and squash.”?
Convoy’s Children’s Feeding program is currently feeding more than 571,000 children every school day in 36 countries — with many more kids waiting to be a part of the program.

Last year, Convoy responded to major flooding in Australia known as the Lismore floods. HumanKind, an Australian television station, shared a special covering Convoy’s response. A recent Convoy of Hope Australia post shows how Convoy team members and volunteers stepped up to show kindness in the middle of the devastation.
In the United States, not only is Convoy providing relief to those impacted by the California wildfires, but we are still responding long-term in states impacted by Hurricane Helene.
We have received incredible support in both responses from author, podcaster, and social media influencer Sharon McMahon , who challenged her followers to step up and give to relief organizations like Convoy of Hope. We’re honored by the generosity we’ve seen from her followers and look forward to more collabs like these in the future!
Convoy’s Women’s Empowerment initiative seeks to educate and equip women to start their own businesses and provide for their families, sharing stories through @convoywomen. We recently linked arms with Michelle Warren, the founder of Catalyst Consulting Group. Michelle wanted her business to make a tangible impact and give back, so she and her team raised $13,000, which will empower 13 women to start their own businesses!?
