Hope Is Not A Strategy!

Hope in giving, hope in business unilaterally speaks in the positive language of respect, discipline, determination, dignity, unification: profitable giving and receiving. The DNA of hope should not speak in the political language of “partisan, bipartisan or reaching across the aisle” that we hear about to often in the press. Hope is an incredible foundation of potential: of reality
Hope is all about believing, desiring and trusting. The cynosure of hope is formulized, categorized and recognized as courage. Courage in determined and unifying causes, advantaged creative actions and measurable results. Hope stimulates, promotes and pumps the hearts of the innocent. Courage establishes and actions such hope, turns hopeful heartfelt determination and dreams into measurable logical and sharable reality.
"Hope should never be sluggish or hebetude in cause, action or performance."
Through our business lives we are expected and merited to be courageous. To make decisions in congress with speed, efficiency and smart unilateral leadership tied to profitable fiduciary responsibilities for our employers, business partners and investors. Both hope and courage are measured through balanced budgets, profitable gains, market growth, market opportunities: team building. In essence the art of the possible through the hope of leadership, business and our home lives is an ambient dose of caring and sharing “courage.”
As we envision the sights, sounds and merits of “Courage” within our business and home lives I offer a short music-video composition which amplifies the emotional capital and determination of hope, amplifies personal courage: both yours and mine: https://youtu.be/-Hmzy1fWB6g
Actionable courage for any leader is their ability to influence, creatively stimulate and proactively energize others to focus on and accomplish a greater goal or set of goals together. To find, create, mature and courageously magnet the path to team success. Leaders do not operate through luck, chance, hope or blame. Leaders deliver vision, sell that vision, adjust that vision and ensure positive change through organizational leadership ultimately and purposefully across the vast land of market opportunity. After all, in our world, the world of the cold steel of the P&L (Profit and Loss statement) employees and or customers either vote with their dollars for our courageous leadership in brand, products, pricing and value or they don’t. The latter causing a large museum of failed products, failed intentions, failed leadership.
Frankly and fortunately I have never personally worked for a leader who blamed me, blamed others who were truculent to competitors. Have you? I am sure such an experience would be most painful, potentially harmful to the organization especially if unwarranted, unchecked. The great thetic leaders I have learned, churned and earned from always took full responsibility, were always hopeful yet courageous on the offense as well as on the defense of our business. A tenable example of personal hope and courage focused on enhancing opportunity and personal team growth is on page 54 of my book Green Reign Leadership, within a chapter titled “Ten Green Reign Leadership Principals.”
The 5th principal states:
“Lead, do not shame. If you want to be the leader, act like the leader 24 hours a day. Leadership, especially personal leadership, demands a highly balanced docent mentality, time-centered patience, and canny team navigation. It avoids department-wide criticism and discouragement. Always protect and energize the greater team, always discipline and disrupt the weak in a private one-on-one setting. Weak leaders without patience, knowledge and vision utilize “FUD” (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) to de-motivate, correct the course of good hearted efforts, and de-stimulate an entire team. In many ways, they punish intended productivity."
Leadership’s courage and effectiveness is diminished when the FUD umbrella taints management’s expected results. Poor leadership embarrasses and shames various members on the team kinetically causing “Mutiny on the Bounty” angst even among the best, and a lack of real production as employees cower and hide. This umbrage-based style of leadership destroys the entire team over time. Always, always lead hope for success through courage and care, never scold or shame inside or outside of your building.”
As we surely agree, hope and blame does not accomplish positive results for business America, for you or I. If you work in an environment where hope and blame resides the best you may be able to do is learn from this retro crest fallen experience to contrast and debate internally the righteous, courageous path of professional leadership. With smart focus on the positive, business leaders will ensure a strengthened union of team believers, will “shame the language of blame” and lead with unified team building competitive opportunities, resulting victories. Remember, “hope is not a strategy.” Having a heart for the innocent with the courage of leadership conviction is the only strategy for personal and or business growth.
