Hope for Schools
One of the joys of Mrs May's departure will be that no longer will those who care about education have to endure the lies about school funding we have to endure during PMQs.
She has repeated time and time again that school funding is at an all time high and that the budget problems rested sole with the Head Teacher – not true because school budgets have to be agreed by the school governing body and signed off as a legal balanced budget by the Chair of the Governing Body. The only choice school managers have is to decide which member of staff is to be sacrificed on the altar of government incompetence.
It is apparent that she and her ministers understand very little or care even less about state education to deny the genuine concerns of HeadTeachers, teachers and support staff from Cumbria to Cornwall from Newcastle to Dover who say we are incrisis.
