Hope is a positive spirit even in hopeless situations

There is a saying in Tibetan, "Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength." No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that's our real disaster.” ― Dalai Lama XIV. Remember that false hope, expecting something you know is beyond reach (e.g. winning millions of dollars on your very first lottery ticket) will lead to almost certain frustration, and despair if you’re homeless and suffering. In some cases, false hope can lead to anger and rage. For example, really expecting commuter traffic to move faster providing a smooth, fast ride home can lead to “Road Rage” when, in fact, you are hopelessly stuck in a long traffic jam.
Genuine hope, on the other hand shows us a way forward like even in death there is hope. I am not a religious person, but I am spiritual. I believe that our energy pattern full of our intention does go somewhere after we pass; and I plan what may come next (animal, mineral or veggie, just kidding) rather than accept some default like becoming a slug or an ant. Hope is intimately tied with survival. It is woven into every sinew and experience of our lives. To live is to hope, to hope is to continue to live. That’s life!
Hope not only affects you it affects the people around you I think hope can sometimes cause problems when my dad was really ill my hope that he would get better made him feel like he couldn't show his fear and concerns often our hopes are to protect ourselves and not serve the people who need it. As time went on and I started to accept the situation, we talked more about real things and I had to give up my hope so that he could have hope of getting to share who he really felt, it's really difficult because we all want to hope it's our greatest need, none of us really know what will happen especially the after life everyone can't be right yet everyone thinks they are,

It's justifying our greatest need hope but hope can hold you back their are people here that put off living this life in the hope of their sacrifices being accounted for in the next, their are people hoping for relationships to change knowing fully that they won't, hope is always out of your control, hope is doubt its okay to hope providing you work with hope not have hope work for you, I hope they get though this, what can you do to increase their chances? I hope I can pay the bills, what are you doing to increase your chances.
We?hope they don't die have you done everything you can do you even know what they hope for? they might just want to let you know it's okay, I hope their is life after death, what if their isn't have you even lived this one the way you want, no matter what your situation are you being you? Hope will always be passive hope takes away responsibility, I hope you understand but I'm okay if you don't. It can be positive when we are hoping for a realistic and attainable outcome. The negative aspects of hope arise from: 1. The outcome we want is not currently at hand (and may never be). 2. If we hold a false hope, or an inflated hope, not reaching the outcome we want just prolongs our pain and suffering. We are unable to move on until we stop hoping for the particular outcome.
3. When we feel pain and are suffering because the outcome of that hope isn’t coming, we can feel frustrated, disappointed, and resentful for our current situation. We are thus living in the future and allowing the present moments to tick by. 4. If our hopes are never met, we end up experiencing more pain than if we hadn’t hoped in the beginning. Sometimes it is better to just let the cards fall where they may. Much like anything else, there are positive and negative aspects. Keeping our hopes on small things that are attainable is a way to not have our hopes dashed. If we live with our heads in the clouds, chances are that any hopes we have won’t result in the outcomes we want and thus we will be worse off for it. Cheers!

2 年insightful post, Kishore. Some Jewish prisoners could survive in the concentration camps only because of a positive spirit. Many died of torture because they lacked a positive spirit.
