Welcome to a special Davos edition of Leadership Matters, a weekly newsletter on issues that matter to corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and organisations that seek to progress on the diversity, inclusion and equity front
Davos 2022 and the World Economic Forum
Against a backdrop of international crises, almost 2,500 of the world's top leaders including 50 Heads of State and Government, ?gathered last month for the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. The gathering underscored the need for solidarity and global cooperation to address pressing issues including climate change, food security, the health crisis, achieving more inclusive benefits of globalization, and an urgent and peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian situation.
Despite the global challenges, we found that conversations and discussions in Davos this year were particularly collaborative with a deep interest in working to fix global issues. Members of the 100 Women @ Davos community participated in events at the Annual Meeting as well as many of the side events which took place in Davos. As a community of impact-focused leaders, our women contributed to powerful discussions at many sessions during the week with over eighty of us present for this year's edition of Davos.
Close to the Promenade, the main street in the tiny Swiss alpine town was temporarily transformed into showrooms and hubs for global organisations, ?we secured the centrally-located, "100 Women@Davos Place" to accommodate members of our community and serving as a site for some of our activities. Below are highlights of our week.
