There is Hope

For me, being a realist optimist is a blessing. But I can see how someone with a similar lens as mine can lose hope by living in Romania. I think that being born in a specific country shouldn't restrict your future in any way. Traveling and exploring have been embedded in our hunter-gatherer's brain for about 70.000 to 100.000 years, so the urge to move in search of a better quality of life is natural.

Bouncing back to Romania, I think that what makes someone stay or leave is his quality of human interactions. At least, that’s the case for me. Almost every day, I read about a Romanian fellow or business that did something impressive or meet with highly driven and intelligent people willing to contribute positively to society.

The most recent and relevant example is the entrepreneurship boot camp?Startup Elites 2022?(by?start-up.ro), where I was luckily selected to participate. As soon as I saw the event’s website, I realized how unique and powerful this initiative is and decided to apply in seconds.

Once again, my intuition worked like a charm. We had four thrilling days packed with valuable information, resources, insights, and fun activities. But, besides all this, what is always uplifting me are novel and authentic human interactions. All the people I met at this event, starting with the hotel staff, my colleagues, the organizers, and the speakers, were very thoughtful, humble, and willing to learn and pass on as much helpful advice and feedback as possible. On top of that, I discovered a lot of ambitious and inspiring initiatives that I really need to deep-dive into.
