There is hope in the Lord!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I hope it's happy for everyone reading this.

At this time of year, it becomes especially difficult for some people to deal with the holidays, as they are thinking of family members who are no longer with them.

This can lead to depression and dark thoughts. This morning, I became aware of the suicide of Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who was only 40 years old when he took his own life yesterday. From what I've seen, he was always a positive, upbeat person who delighted and encouraged all the people around him.

He was deeply loved by his wife and three children, and he spent some time on the Ellen DeGeneres show, as a regular, who eventually became a co-executive producer of the show.

Someone like him would probably be the last person you'd think who would take their own life. There must have been something unresolved inside him that left him feeling like there was no hope and no reason to live.

In case anyone reading this post is experiencing depression or thoughts of suicide, please call 988 in America, which is a national suicide help line.

This is why it's critical to treat people with kindness, dignity and respect. You never know when someone who appears to have it all together - doesn't.

Go out of your way today and thank someone in your life for being there, for being a source of encouragement, for being just who they are. Find something to compliment someone about today.

Get concerned about others and show them the love of Jesus in a way that you never considered before. Be proactive, not reactive.

Also, seek help from God. He is faithful, and He will fulfill His promises.

"I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!" Isaiah 34:4-5, 8

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Walk in that hope, knowing that God loves you and is with you always. He wants us all to live happy, fulfilled lives, and He will work in you to achieve that.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." And He who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Revelation 21:4
