The Hope in the Lilac Bush

I was sitting outside for a while doing some work, and to my left is my lilac bush. A couple of months back I thought it was dying. The leaves all browned up and were rapidly falling off. You can see the photo on the left.
I love this bush and the blooms I get in the spring. I kept praying that God would not let it die.
Then... a couple of weeks ago, I saw little green leaves starting to appear on it. I was so happy and delighted that it looked like it was coming back. I thanked God for answering my prayer.
But God wasn't done yet... as you can see in the photo on the right, he gave me some small lilac blooms!!! For any of you who know lilac plants, they don't have a second bloom, and definitely not at this time of the year!
So, as I sat outside today, this plant had me thinking about our lives and how we can go through dry, almost dead seasons of life. We can be in the job market or in a toxic work environment, or at a loss as to what to do next. I know I have been in those places.

Yet, God is always there. He knows you intimately. He can bring "dead" things to life and make beauty from the ashes of our lives. There is hope and a future for you. He has done this for me, and he can do it for you.
Just ask Him to be a part of your life and help you as you navigate whatever you are facing... then look for his hand... it may come as an idea, a thought, a change in circumstance, an answer to prayer, etc.
I hope this Lilac bush gives you hope in the season you are experiencing.
