Hope

On a visit to a Vanilla Nursery a while back, I took this phot of a water droplet hanging precariously off a leaf of a vanilla plant on my Samsung A73 phone. Recently I did one of those routine software update on my Samsung phone and read that there were some new features added to its photo editing.

So I ended up toying around with some photos in my phone gallery and ended up with this result. This edited version of the photo resonated with me about "hope". Even with nothing, hope is something one should never lose, because it keeps you going. I remembered years back when I was desperately hoping and applying for jobs after graduating from university, how that single flicker of hope that I might get lucky with one of my applications kept me going. In your most trying times, keep the hope.

At times, all we see of the world

Parades before us in just grey and black

Then there is that flicker of hope we hold

Like a dew drop precariously hanging off a leaf

Which we protect and guard dearly

For that is all the colour we see

For hope lights a candle in the darkness

And hope is sometimes the only thing that keeps us going
