Hope-filled chicken sandwiches
Welcome back! We hope you have had a productive start to your week and this newsletter will bring you insightful content for your day. Let's jump right into this week's stories.
Hot sandwiches to go
As the recovery process continues after back-to-back hurricanes in the southeastern U.S., so will the need for meals, water, and other immediate relief supplies. In alignment with Convoy’s mission, the team will be there serving for the long haul.?
Convoy has also had the honor of partnering with other organizations for the Hurricane Helene and Milton responses, including Chick-fil-A, SpartanNash, and the Home Depot Foundation. Earlier this year, Chick-fil-A packed 2 million meals for Convoy to distribute. Now, they are distributing hot meals of their own.?
“We can accomplish so much more when organizations and groups come together to make a big difference,” said Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy.?
Convoy is grateful for the incredible support, which has allowed the team to distribute hundreds of thousands of pounds of supplies for the Milton response.?
During one of our mobile distributions — driving through impacted neighborhoods — we also got to hear directly from families in these communities. Some were moved to tears and breathed a sigh of relief receiving relief kits, knowing that they had not been forgotten.
105 miles, one mission

Over the weekend, we shared how three of our incredible team members ran a 100-mile race for Convoy’s Agriculture programming. This crew includes Dr. Jason Streubel (aka “Dr. Dirt”), Rhett Noonan , and former NFL tight end Vance McDonald.?
We’re excited to report that our team ran a combined 105 miles over the course of the race!? What an accomplishment. ???
Why would our team members run for agriculture? We’ve seen firsthand how agriculture training can help farmers and communities become food secure, overcome environmental changes, and establish long-term solutions — it provides a long-term solution for communities impacted by disasters, too.?

Meals spark dreams
One part of Convoy’s mission is to serve individuals in communities that are overlooked and under-resourced.
In Slovakia, Convoy is working with the Roma community — a people group kept outside of society, making it nearly impossible for them to receive the education and support they need. Culturally, this group of people are highly discriminated against and face many roadblocks in receiving care.?
Jalena is a 5-year-old girl living in a small Roma village. At home, her mother is financially unable to provide regular meals for Jalena and her nine siblings. But since Convoy of Hope started a Children’s Feeding initiative in her village, Jalena has been able to receive nutritious meals, take food home for her entire family, and start believing in her dream to become a teacher. Read the rest of Jalena’s story at the link above.
To date, more than 571,000 children are fed every school day through Convoy’s Children’s Feeding program. Our goal is to feed 1 million kids every school day by the year 2030. You can help us reach that goal! Learn more and join the movement today.
That’s a wrap for this week’s Hope Makes It Happen! As you go, would you share this newsletter with your friends and co-workers? It gives more people a chance to get involved and make a difference. Thank you!
