Hooton in 2023
A small summary of a very big year
From growing our team to moving offices, 2023 has been a huge year for Hooton. We’ve completed 22 projects and onboarded 10 new clients. We’ve built new networks and connections, participated in dozens of exciting events and moved office. There’s been laughter and tears, we’ve learned important lessons (and unlearned a few others) and we’re prouder than ever of everything we’ve achieved.?
Let us tell you a bit more about what we’ve been up to…
PROJECTS
Whether helping to raise crucial awareness of men’s health in the Netherlands with Movember, or launching Tylko’s must-have collaboration with Andres Reisinger, the projects that Hooton has worked on this year have been bigger and better than ever. With complex strategy, paid partnerships, consultancy and influencer campaigns all on the go, it’s been a non-stop, wild ride, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.?
Here are a few of our favourite pieces of coverage from the past 12 months: - Simon Hatter in The Drum: At Cannes we learned that agencies are showing up harder than brands for Pride
- Tylko in Hypebeast: Andrés Reisinger Creates Surrealist Installations for Buildings in Five Cities
- Heloise Hooton in Creative Review: Are You Accidentally Greenwashing?
- Blake Harrop from W&K in the Guardian: Greenwashing era is over, say ad agencies, as regulators get tough
OUT AND ABOUT
When we weren’t strategising media campaigns and crafting press releases, the Hooton team was lucky enough to spend this year meeting and learning from a vast number of immensely interesting people from all over the globe. We attended various B Corp events and People, Planet, Pint meetups across Amsterdam and sought out like-minded people and businesses working across the city’s sustainability space, as we continue to work on building a socially-conscious local community that shares our values and ambition for the future.?
On top of that we attended countless seminars and webinars, and of course, we can’t forget the five days we spent in the French Riviera for the jam-packed Cannes Lions, which saw clients including GUT and Wieden+Kennedy take home multiple awards.

BEING A B-CORP
At Hooton, we’re all about giving back. This year, we’ve been working with more sustainable startups and purpose-driven companies than ever, while we’ve also prioritised providing pro-bono PR for those whose projects really do deserve more attention. In the “real” (read: non-PR) world, the team has also been litter picking, as we help to clean up the streets of Amsterdam. Next year we’ll be doing more of this, while reapplying for our all-important B Corp certification.?
JUST FOR FUN…
And of course, sometimes we just needed to have fun. The Hooton team highlight had to be drag bingo at Café the Queen’s Head, but we also have to mention our delicious five-course Christmas dinner at Breda earlier this month, and the sophisticated affair at Plantage back in summer.
UP NEXT…
Thank you for following along with our journey over the past 12 months. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve got in store for 2024.
