Hooray, Google is copying us

There is a simple explanation: it's because we are ahead of time and do invent awesome technologies everyone wants to use.

What happened?

Google just recently announced that they will have

Nearby Connections 2.0: fully offline, high bandwidth peer to peer device communication

in a version of Google Play services 11.0 and up. Congratulations.

In 2014 we released shoutr to

Share pictures, files, music and contact information with people nearby privately without an internet connection, Bluetooth or a hotspot!

shoutr lets you send and receive everything ranging from photos over videos to music. All you need is a friend who also has shoutr installed and that is within a certain distance (approx. 30m). The transfer is superfast and best of all it works without an Internet connection. This means you can use it everywhere: on the train, in the countryside, even on the moon (if you ever make it there).

So, after all, we feel flattered that we came up with this solution, implemented it in a pretty awesome way, made it as a default software on one of the first smart watches and could start our business on top of it and now they are bringing it to each Android device out there.

We are currently distributing the shoutr.Boxx system - so instead of implementing something similar in the future just let us know and we are happy to help again.
