When it comes to advertising, a big idea is the single most important element you can put your focus on.

And the reason is simple: You got competitors.

Your target is getting bombarded with pitches & offers left & right.

So unless your message contains a hook that stops your prospects dead in their tracks… your Ad will bomb. And no one will care.


But?how exactly do you define a big idea??

Good question. See, a big idea is:


?? Important/memorable (to your prospect)

?? Exciting

?? Benefit-oriented

?? Simple/easy to understand


You’ll know when you see it… because it will pique your curiosity.

It will make you think, “Wait… what, really?”

Actually, a great way to determine whether you’ve got your hands on a big idea or not is by asking yourself the questions in the picture above.

HOW do you stumble upon a big idea in the first place?

Well, there’s only one good answer.

Research.

You’ve got to dive into the heart of your market and find a story that no one else has told before.


Where do you start?

Try to get in front of as many big ideas as you can (and they don’t need to be related to your market.)

That way you can build your “pattern-recognition” muscles… and spot that one idea when you see it.
