Honouring Canadian War Heroes
Hello Loyal NO BS VETERAN HEALTH NEWSLETTER Community,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and eager for another engaging episode of The Hard To Kill Podcast. In Episode 179, I sat down with Giselle Drew Walsh , an executive board member of an organization that honours Canadian Armed Forces | Forces armées canadiennes members for their valiant efforts in conflicts like Afghanistan
What Giselle Wants To Change
In this powerful episode, Giselle shares their belief that organizations, such as the military, should place a higher priority on the long-term health and well-being of individuals. She shed light on issues like soft tissue injuries, post-traumatic stress (PTS), and mild traumatic brain injuries that continue to impact many service members. Giselle's journey to discovering her passion for advocating for military personnel's well-being began only six months ago when she came across this unique organization.
Recognizing Our War Heroes
Recognizing the bureaucratic obstacles that prevent individuals like Jess Larochelle from receiving awards like the Victoria Cross, Giselle emphasizes the importance of recognizing gallantry and battlefield presence in both past and future conflicts. What makes this episode particularly poignant is how personal it is to Giselle. Through their own emotional pain and experiences growing up, she was inspired to bring about change.
Giselle found solace in utilizing the power of the Internet and a microphone, starting The Breaking Dress Regs podcast to create a platform for people who may lack resources or training to deal with their situations by breaking the rules and having daring conversations.
