Honoring volunteers with a charity auction

I've had the chance to start working at Infirmiers de rue ASBL / Straatverplegers vzw / Streetnurses . One of my first tasks was organising a charity auction. An event which is held in honor of two extraordinary volunteers who, after their passing, bequeathed us a collection of nearly 6,000 comic books. A beautiful gesture that allows us not only to celebrate their memory but also to continue supporting our efforts for the most vulnerable homeless people.

Yet, I wouldn’t be completely honest if I didn’t mention that this project brings me a certain level of anxiety, particularly due to the many unknowns that arise along the way. The intensity of this pressure is probably directly proportional to the scale this event is taking on. Fortunately, I am surrounded by amazing colleagues within the communication and fundraising department, who show immense patience with my concerns, and for that, I want to sincerely thank them. ??

?? From November 4 to 13, the auction will take place online at Drouot.com . The catalog of lots will be available starting October 18, allowing you to discover the treasures we have up for bid. In addition to the challenges, there are also all the incredible connections I’ve made throughout this journey. Partners like Collauctions , ERIC COUNE , and WITLOF have supported us, along with talented artists and comic book creators from Belgium and France. Among them, I had the pleasure of meeting Carine De Brab, the creator of Sac à Puces, whose kindness and talent left a lasting impression on me. ?? Discover how much she was willing to invest here .

Although this adventure can be challenging at times, it is also incredibly rewarding. All proceeds from this auction will support our efforts to help homeless individuals regain a dignified and stable life. Every gesture counts, whether it’s bidding, sharing, or simply offering your encouragement.
