Honoring Those Who Teach

We transform people, places, and companies for a more inclusive world. #EquityRealized.
This week marks Teacher Appreciation Week, when we honor those who educate and inspire students everywhere. As the story goes, efforts to show appreciation to teachers date back to the early 1940s, but the cause gained traction when Eleanor Roosevelt lobbied Congress in 1953 to set aside a day to recognize educators.?
Many of us remember teachers who impacted our lives. For me, growing up in Hawai’i, there was the science teacher who engaged and encouraged me with hands-on experiments. Another teacher recommended me for the gifted program. And then there was the high school teacher who suggested I join the speech and debate team—a? lasting influence I don’t have to explain to anyone who knows me well!
Good teachers today are under pressure, from book bans at school to restrictions on what can be taught or discussed in the classroom. In states across the country, where legislation is being proposed that would effectively put a gag order in the classroom, brave teachers are fighting back to teach accurate and unbiased history.?
We at Lazu Group would like to honor educators and support them in encouraging healthy, respectful curiosity among students. We are giving a yearlong subscription to our CULTURL Calendar at no charge to the first 100 teachers who register here. https://bit.ly/4b9V3NB Our calendar is a critical tool for understanding and educating others about notable holidays, commemorations, and cultural heritage months. This is a limited-time offer, so be sure to apply as soon as possible.
Good teachers who stand up for the rights of all students to learn and discuss ideas freely truly are a national treasure. Let’s take a stand with them.
