As we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, his words deeply resonate: “Life’s most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”
January often feels like a fresh start. It's a time to ease back into routines while setting our intentions for the year. For me, it’s also a time to reflect on service.
Whether it’s joining the PTA, volunteering at church, or stepping up on a committee, serving others has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional growth.
Real estate has taught me so much about service as it’s more than helping people buy or sell homes; It’s about empowering families to achieve their dreams. Watching clients find the perfect home is a joy I’m so grateful to experience.
This month, I’ve been finding comfort in cozy self-care rituals—layering up in warm clothes, sipping my daily Lipton tea with lemon and honey, and staying connected with loved ones. But my thoughts are also with those enduring challenges, from the snow and cold here in D.C. to the devastating fires in California.
If you’re thinking about serving in your community this year, I encourage you to give it a try. The skills you’ll gain—leadership, collaboration, communication—will enrich your life in ways you can’t imagine. And if you’re considering buying or selling a home, I’m here to help you turn your real estate dreams into reality.
What are your favorite ways to stay warm and serve during the winter? Let me know in the comments!

1 个月Thanks for sharing Matene Okoye. I sit on a charter school board. I would like to be more intentional not just about the business of operating a school but also about finding ways to better support the school staff and students.
