Angelique Lewis , a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson turned front-end-focused full-stack developer and she is shaping the future of tech. With a B.S. in Management Information Systems, she always had a passion for technology but lacked the resources to break into the field. When she discovered the Path2TECH program, she knew it was her chance to make a change, not just for herself but for her family.?

Her background in sales and real estate gave her a head start in web development, as she built websites for each role she held. Inspired by a fellow NPower alum Angelique embraced the program's mission to empower women in tech.?

Angelique is excited to "claim her space" in an industry where women are underrepresented. Her standout moment in the program was a “Shark Tank” experience, which inspired her to create her own app. Now, she’s determined to network with other women in tech, share opportunities, and create innovative solutions for businesses. Her mindset is one of continuous learning in knowing that even when she doesn’t have all the answers, the solutions are out there.??

The Path2TECH program was spotlighted in a recent, Afrotech News Article in supporting BIPOC women in leveraging their skills in the tech industry. The feature highlighted Command Shift’s innovative approach to closing the representation gap by providing tech training, mentorship, and career pathways. With a goal to double the number of women of color in tech roles by 2030, Command Shift and Path2TECH are transforming lives and creating equitable opportunities. This recognition underscores the impact of these programs in fostering diversity and inclusion in the tech workforce.

NPower’s 2024 Gala Recap

?On October 29th, NPower hosted its highly anticipated 2024 Gala at? Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The event gathered over 500 leaders, advocates, and changemakers committed to advancing tech equity for underrepresented communities.

The evening honored Antonio Neri , President and CEO of 惠普企业服务 , for his visionary leadership in fostering inclusion in the tech sector. During the Fireside Chat, Neri said, "As technology transforms our world, we must ensure everyone has a seat at the table. Organizations like NPower remind us of the incredible potential we unlock when we invest in diverse talent."

Guests enjoyed an inspiring program showcasing NPower alumni stories of resilience and achievement. The gala also spotlighted NPower’s groundbreaking initiatives, including the Path2TECH.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and attendees, the event raised $1.9 million to expand NPower’s programs, empowering more individuals to thrive in technology. Together, we’re building a future where innovation thrives through inclusion.
