Honoring Our Mentors

I was very happy yesterday to join more than 300 peers and colleagues at the Union League Club of Chicago, where the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations honored my dear friend Bob Feldman with its prestigious Legacy Award for outstanding mentorship. 

Bob is so deserving of this recognition. For the better portion of my career, he has been a generous mentor, sponsor, advisor and friend - and the effect of his insight and encouragement has only grown as time and life have progressed.

Thank you and congratulations, Bob! Thanks also go to Bill Heyman, Grant Toups, Susan Feldman, Robert Flaherty and Aaron Kwittken for making it a great evening. 

And thanks to the Plank Center for reminding us how important it is to honor our mentors. Whether we’re connected for a lifetime or for a season only, they help shine a light on what we can become.
