Honoring Juneteenth

Honoring Juneteenth

Juneteenth represents a significant milestone in American History and serves as a powerful symbol of resilience, freedom and the fight for equality against centuries of systemic injustice endured by Black and African Americans. It's observance encourages individuals and communities to deepen their understanding of Black and African American history, the legacy of slavery, and the continued challenges faced by marginalized communities.

Last year marked the first time Exiger recognized Juneteenth as an official holiday for our U.S. employees. To hear more about the significance of this decision, consider reading this letter from our CEO, Brandon Daniels. Recognizing Juneteenth allows us to honor the historical significance of this day, celebrate Black and African American culture, and promote education and awareness within our organization. We encourage our employees to take this opportunity for reflection, learning, and engagement in activities that promote racial equality.

Juneteenth's importance extends far beyond its national significance as it serves as a catalyst for raising awareness about the persistence of modern slavery worldwide. It serves as a powerful reminder of the historical struggle against slavery and resonates with the global fight for freedom and equality. In the words of Brandon, “this is the spirit that we aim to emulate with our mission at Exiger to make the world a safer place and to stamp out modern slavery.”

At Exiger, as we continue to progress along in our DEI journey and demonstrate inclusivity for the best talent in the world, amplifying and nurturing the voices of Black American individuals will always be one of our top priorities. Supporting organizations such as /dev/color and Mentor New York allows us to do just that. We encourage you to learn about these organizations, consider getting involved and/or take action in other ways this day of remembrance, reflection and celebration.
