Honoring Dr. King's Legacy
Today we honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. TEKsystems seeks to uphold the ideals of Dr. King’s legacy by fostering an inclusive culture. One in which it is the responsibility of everyone to practice unbiased empathy, incorporating the unique perspectives of the individual to create a sense of belonging. Our people are empowered to become the best version of themselves to maximize individual and collective opportunity. It is through this focus that we believe we may also set the example for greater education, awareness, empathy and equality within our broader communities.
In 2020, TEKsystems expanded education on bias to help increase awareness and improve decision making. We fully adopted a framework to enhance transparency of opportunity and implemented advocacy, access and development programs to increase our diverse leader talent pools. We also took collective pauses throughout the year to engage in Conversations That Matter, exploring topics that people care about, to help better understand one another and to deepen our relationships.
In addition, we increased and broadened our social responsibility impact through supporting organizations that serve underserved communities and fight to create a more equitable society, including Equal Justice Initiative, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Per Scholas and Creating IT Futures
I am so proud of the TEKsystems team and the progress we’ve made. We have so far to go along our journey, but along the way, we will continually enhance our inclusive and diverse workforce and workplace culture while doing our part to increase the collective well-being of society – and, in so doing, hopefully move us closer to the realization of Dr. King’s Dream.
