Honoring commitment to community
It was a privilege and something special to attend NFL Honors last weekend, where the NFL announced Philadelphia Eagle defensive end Chris Long as this year’s winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, presented by Nationwide. He is the definition of a worthy recipient. Formed in 2015, The Chris Long Foundation was designed to fulfill three main philanthropic causes: provide clean water to regions where it isn’t available, show our military the appreciation they deserve and educate our youth.
Chris’s dedication to making a difference is a shining example of the positive impact one person can make in the lives of others. What’s even more inspiring is that his story is just one of many examples of the tremendous good NFL players are doing in their communities. Since December, Nationwide has provided Chris and all the 2018 team nominees a platform in which to share their foundation’s stories to a national audience. I invite you to visit www.nfl.com/manoftheyear to learn more about the amazing things players are doing to make our world a better place.
Congratulations and thank you to Chris on being named this year’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and to his fellow nominees for their continued commitment to serving others.

5 年I really enjoyed Chris's message in his acceptance speech. You don't need the platform that he and others have to make make a difference - just faithfully commit to doing your part, even if you may never see the results. Truly inspiring.
Congrats, Chris!
