Honored and Humbled.

Last Friday I had the honor to be invited to the Inspiring Committed Leaders Foundation's New York Summit and New York Awards Gala. This year's event was held in Marbella, Spain due to issues surrounding travel and pandemic restrictions. Full disclosure, my wife, Maria Rozman was receiving an award that night for her accomplishments in journalism, so my job was to hold her purse and avoid stepping on her dress. The event was held at the Marbella Arena and was centered on honoring the heroes and first responders of the attacks on September 11, 2001. As a retired Army officer, attending a gala in Spain, imagine my surprise that the first order of business would be the singing of the Star Spangled Banner, forcing me and my fellow Americans attending to surge to our feet. I have to say, it was quite emotional. This was followed by an outstanding performance by Galician pipers, which if you have not heard them yourself, probably could put many Scottish and Irishmen to tears. A stunning performance.

The rest of the gala was true to form with impressive stories from all that were honored that night. However I did want to acknowledge Ray Cazorla, Founder of the Inspiring Committed Leader Foundation, for the special consideration and care that he gave not just to me and my team, but to all those that attended. He is, as we say in the Canaries "un buen pibe." That being said, none of this would have been possible without the hard work of Ray's exceptional network of planners and doers. The lengths that they were willing to go to get us where we needed to and when speaks volumes to his eye for spotting and cultivating talent, especially Karen Veloz. We are all, very grateful.
