May 6 through May 12 is National Nurses Week, with May 12th being Florence Nightingale’s birthday. 

Across my long healthcare leadership career, I have had wonderful opportunities to work with and respect thousands of remarkable, highly talented and dedicated nurses representing every field of healthcare, research and academics.  I believe the core of 24/7/365 healthcare and caring in America – and in many parts of the world - is tightly woven around the women and men in the nursing profession.  

Nurses make the world a better place and during this formal Nurses Week 2018, I want to thank each and every nurse for your commitment, education, talents and professionalism. Most importantly – thanks for your care and caring.
