Honesty is STILL the best Policy!

There is a great deal I learned from my child hood and the teachings of my Grand Mother and Parents. Today, the excuses fly at the drop of the hat and friends, 95% of them boil down to just telling a LIE!  

History: First, in identifying the core of any problem, I believe history always has allot to teach. Right now we are in the hottest Presidential Nomination Run for both parties in history. My father, a life long Republican, always taught my Brother and I, "the first time you run on the other persons record, next time you have to run on YOUR record.  I had an Aunt who used to say, well its just a "little  white lie"!  Oh, I remember the lesson I learned from my father the day that came off my lips, I got a good spanking and educated, If you tell someone something that you know is not so, it is a LIE!

Well, I have sat back and watched 2 Democratic Debates and 2 Republican Debates. My brother is the Republican and Tea Party Member so I leave his thoughts on that party other to say, as MEAN as they are to EACH OTHER, would you want to have to count on them for MERCY? In their behavior, do you see the life of Christ which they all espouse to live? As a Project Manager in Healthcare and Social Cause warrior, I have some basic principals that never failed me. 

1. Don't know, say so, find out and get back to the person! No body knows it all, but giving wrong or making up your facts simply makes people say, careful, can't trust what they say. 
2. Personally, as an LGBT American, I have voted for the best of candidates. Media has lost its spine, what we are told is that we are "Polarized", that is a LIE! What we are is BURNED! Politicians go about and in my opinion some show why they should not be running by rattling off simple solutions to very complex issues. What message does that send? I don't know but here this will get this one off my back! I voted for Bill Clinton both Elections so before  you throw out a "LABEL", I have tried to be NEUTRAL, because I truly like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. What changed the equation for me? To some such little thing, NOT TO ME and every LGBT American who were the victims of Bill Clintons self serving get the HEAT of his affair off his back Legislation that was all what the Republicans wanted. 

• Defense of Marriage Act - First legislation in National History to actually put legal discrimination against 10% of the American Population. Don't Ask Don't Tell - Officers and Enlisted Troops who served with Honor, Distinction and were highly decorated, outed through ploys like " A Security Clearance which required them to take a polygraph, the question "Are you Gay" say yes, your out, say no, you lied, your out. 
• 1 Strike your Out and 3 Strikes your Out, has us spending 80 Billion Dollars a year to have the largest population on EARTH in prisons for petty crimes. These Judicial unfair bend also implanted a NOTION of divine right to kill or stop or detain any American because of the color or religious affiliation. 

I waited eagerly to hear Hillary Clintons excuse, there were many she could have taken from the stack, frankly, I could have thought more if she would have made Bill, put out a statement saying "HE WAS WRONG and for those injured I apologize" or She herself. We count on our President to make life and death decisions every day. Mrs. Clinton an Attorney, only defense? Well their was talk of a Constitutional Change. THAT WAS THE BIGGEST COWARDICE PIECE OF GARBAGE I HAVE EVER HEARD. History, shows us that passing a Constitutional Amendment is almost impossible. Look at the time it took for Women to get the right to vote. Even had it been put into the Constitution, somewhere it would have been stricken down.  It was discrimination. 

What else did my Dad teach us? "If someone has to ask you to "TRUST THEM, beware of them" "Most are just telling  you a LIE". During the Debate, the Union fighting to organize Walmart was running ad's asking "are you with us", in college I did a research paper on Walmart. In the footage, then first lady of Arkansas, there was Hillary Clinton on the stage leading the Civic Center full of investors in a "WALMART Cheer", I sure didn't here her saying, you need to pay the many WOMEN and other employees better back then. History teaches FACTUALLY: Women who had their husbands walk off and leave, had to raise children working low wage jobs, many checked out your groceries. She is from that period. 

Today, there is another big LIE, in fact it just makes my blood boil, I "EVOLVED" on that issue or that view.  Now as I always told my teams of people, just tell it like it is. We are all professionals, this is not about person, this is about what gets us our pay check, blame never fixed anything, but its easier than helping to fix the problem because you might have to help! 

• People are NOT evolving, they just have developed the capacity to SPEAK OUT publicly the way they really felt about an issue. Do I believe  people have the capacity to CHANGE, I certainly do.  As someone who has worked in trying build up a part of our capital City that got all the bad press and LABELED. Good and Bad are everywhere you go. However, what my experience is people have a CORE being.  They learn more to ACCEPT which is LIGHT YEARS from Approval. My last piece I talked a great deal about Civility. 
• Now Hillary went on about her experience. Well as someone weighing pros and cons, I ask myself, Sen. Bernie Sanders voted against bailing out Wall Street, See's the abuse of Big Banks and wants to put back GLASS STRAGGLE, Hillary's response "It doesn't do enough", FDR put that in place and look through out our Country. Where ever DEREGULATON hits, quality suffers and Consumers pay MORE.  A veteran of HealthCare of 35 years, there is a big COST TICKET that NO PERSON has been talking about. Administrative Costs!  As a former biller and collector and Patient Accounts Director, THE PUBLIC has no clue the COSTS in salaries, software and audits involved in the process of trying collect from Insurance Companies. Example, CAMC Health System in Charleston, West Virginia. The CEO makes 2.3 Million a year. The average salary in WV is 23,000 a year. That is the High to Low. In his tenure, CAMC has OUT SOURCED then taken back, financially struggled. Who has suffered, not EXECUTIVES,  in fact their benefits would start a riot. Who is worth that? The motivation / BONUS of the CEO pay check, makes him outsourcing you which means your going to either loose your job, make less, have worse benefits or what usually happens, do the work of 2 or LOOSE YOUR JOB! When I was out sourced to Siemens USA, I thought I would have a stroke. Already working 55 hours a week and lots more before, during and post projects, now I got to work 60-65, why? Sales told the CEO a LIE, "Oh you will have the same staff and will be in the same cubicles with the same numbers, nothing will change. That might have been true for 5 business days. Then we did work documentation 2 ways, the Siemens way to CHARGE HOURS and the CAMC way, so everyone on teams could have their tasks automated and reminders and a central place to keep minutes and such. How much was my raise? NOTHING! 

Lately I have begun to really dig into our MEDIA. Bernie Sanders is exactly right, when people give you Millions of Dollars, it comes with "I OWE YOU's". Hillary also supports Genetically Modified Organsms, most commonly the INFAMOUS Monsanto RED Corn that converts round up "WEED KILLER" and converts it into food.  Except Mother Nature has created new WEEDS that required stronger spraying of weed killers. Twice it  has hit the news, that some Republican Congress person has tried to slip a "HOLD HARMLESS" in to various bills to protect Monsanto from ever being sued.  

I look at Bernie Sanders life, his long standing battle for Human Rights and Equality for every American. If wisdom and experience are supposed to be our key, if he has been on the right side of all the votes Hillary was wrong on, then ask yourself, why is Hillary grasping at straws. Because the simple truth is He is a Honest Man and unlike Hillary who  has taken in most of President Obama's political machine and advisors. 

The best LEADER is one who TALKS less and LISTENS more. If you want to know how to FIX something that is BROKEN, you simply ask the people who do the work. In HealthCare they have a nice name for that process, its called Current State Work Flow Analysis. Simply put, every person who has any role from step 1 to end is represented around the table.  What is my greatest fear about Bernie Sanders, is that the RICH and POWERFUL many of whom are former CEO's who got rich off of infecting misery on other people. 

So here is my challenge to YOU, watch, listen, when the rally's are over, take note Hillary is GONE, but the media has shown Town Hall after Town Hall, at sold out crowds, after there is Bernie outside talking to people waiting out side. After all, technology and consultants, there are plenty of those, CEO's sure don't make that computer that was made in CHINA. They just get a cut from the PROFITS. 

As Governor O'Malley, he certainly has some great State and local experience. Which makes me make this prediction. Sanders / O'Malley as Bernie Sanders started off as a Mayor and then Governor and then to Congress. Put them together and I see POTENTIAL so GREAT, nothing like it in our life time. 

Hillary Clinton has been on the National seen, but my favorite line from "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff", "A Journey of a Million miles begins with one step" or in my view at the lowest level. CEO's manage from the 50th floor, we need people who understand the basement. We as a nation have been in a DEATH spiral. 

During the race to space, I remember watching in school, watch a Astronaut walk on the moon. In 1972, I was so EXCITED, I actually thought, Michael, you might even take a vacation on the moon. Now I am excited, if I can make my disability check stretch, to have some way to cover disasters with my home. I worry any day, a disaster is going to happen and we have no way to move remnants of our Human Race to another EARTH. 

WAR is a drain on resources. It is infuriating to me as I watched BBC World tonight, 2 wonderful in depth pieces, one on the refugees in South Sudan, actually boiling GRASS just to have something to feed their children. A Great piece on Iraq and the town, just retaken by the Kurds.  My heart sunk as a woman to afraid for her face to be seen described how ISIS, divided them like heards. Forced them to convert to Islam or killed them, the Elderly Women were taken to a College on the out skirts of the town where they were considered to old for Sex Slaves and were summary executed.  Young girls are gone. 

This my friends are what we need to be focused on. Our Military should be dropping rations for Sudan. Iraq, that blood is on President Bush and carries on, because "NO GOOD INTENTION EVER GOES UNPUNNISHED", with Iraq, sorry Jeb, it was a revenge issue with your Father. "Cowboy Diplomacy"! The War Complex making Hundreds of Billions in Profits, well their children wont be coming home with out their legs or arms.  Those we supposedly sent to help, how can we as HUMANS not have empathy, if a DRONE killed your family by accident, would you love the country who launched it?

America, to you Millennials, you have so much POSSIBILITY, but your Country needs you in her DARKEST hour. Not to give blood, or take up arms. I plead that you get involved with a Progressive Movement and help us take back our Country to be what it should be, Home of the FREE and the Home of the Brave and instead of WARS, use our technology working with our neighbors all about the world to make a QUALITY life a reality for EVERY Human on EARTH.
