Honesty is the real virtue of man

Honesty is a virtue but it certainly wont help you climb the social or economic latter. People dont even know what honesty even looks like anymore. Honesty is considered a weakness. If you are so bold as to speak from the heart and express how you are, what you want and why you want it, you become a target.

You have shown your hand and others now can do what they want with you. Some people preach and advocate for healthy relationship communication, then they draw the truth out of you (because of the promise of a closer bond with the person) and when your done, they reciprocate with the same old cold BS from before. You are now exposed. No good. Honesty is a virtue but a dangerous one at that.

You cannot be honest to everyone you see. You will feel to be honest only towards your parents,sibblings and partner.you will be honest only to your family. Being honest causes you less misunderstandings in your relationship.By being honest towards your boss makes you learn more. Being honest makes you to accept your mistakes and learn from them. You can grow in life only by being honest towards yourself only.

Lots of people don’t want to hear the truth. Some don’t want to know the truth. Some can’t accept the truth. For others, as Jack Nicholson said: “you can’t handle the truth.” Honesty is a virtue for sure. If you are thinking honesty means to speak only the truth no matter what, you have misunderstood the word. Honesty = “integrity, uprightness, honorableness, honor, morality, morals, ethics, principles, high principles, righteousness, right-mindedness;”

Honesty is not only a virtue, but the mother of the virtues. No virtue can survive without honesty. However, honesty and weakness/vices can’t go hand in hand. Honesty of a corrupt person can lead him to jail. Honesty of an unfaithful spouse can lead to breaking of marriage. Honesty of a criminal can lead to the arrest and prosecution of the entire gang. Honesty of a weak student may lead to his failure in examination.

If some people consider honesty as a vice, it is so because they are either weak, or they are engaged in illegal and immoral activates in their life. Hence, they have to speak lies every day to conceal their weaknesses and their vices. These evil people can’t afford the path of honesty.

A couple is driving... Cop: Sir, you realize that you were speeding.

Husband: I am sorry officer, I didn't know.

Wife: What the hell, that's a lie I have been telling him for miles!!

Husband: Shut up!! No one is talking to you!!

Cop: Ok then, did you know that your license plate was expired?

Husband: No Officer, I didn't know.

Wife: He's again telling a lie!! I've been telling him for months!!

Husband: Shut the hell up! Nobody is talking to you!!!

Cop walks over to the wife's side and says - Cop: Mam, does he always talk to you this way?

Wife: No. Only when he's drunk.

When you are doing so many illegal acts, you can’t afford to be honest. Cheers!
