But to my dismay, that isn't how #KennyRogersRoasters choose to run their business.
RM60.60 FOR 2 QUARTER CHICKEN MEALS! Seriously???
My friend and I walked in excitedly to Kenny Rogers First Avenue yesterday - it was our first dine-in after months of being in lock down.
And walked out feeling shortchanged.
We were asked to scan a QR code at the entrance. For the menu!
We were not given a phyical menu to pore and ponder over.
We both ordered a quarter chicken meal each.
The conversation went like this...
Staff: Muffins, chocolate or vanilla?
Me: Chocolate. (My friend chose vanilla.)
Staff: Your 3 side orders?
(We chose our side orders.)
Staff: Drinks, iced lemon tea or Coke?
(We both chose chose iced lemon tea, a decision we were to regret later as the glass was filled with way more ice than lemon tea.)
To our utter shock and disbelief, our bill amounted to RM60.60!
It was only then that the staff told us the iced lemon teas were not part of the Quarter Chicken Meal!
It's not about the extra RM11.38 (excluding 16% tax) for the iced-almost-lemonless-tea.
It's not about the overpriced RM60.60. (Though RM60.60 can pay for delicious seafood by the sea! Just sayin'...)
It's about letting us know upfront that drinks are not included in the meal so we can make an informed decision.
Not only did we leave Kenny Rogers with a bad taste in the pit of our stomachs, we will think twice before going there again.
However, these are the Top 3 Things I learned from the experience:
In sales. In business. In life.
After all, like Harv Eker says...
"How you do anything is how you do everything!"
