The Honest Zoom Meeting

"Hey everyone! In honor of Day 323 of "15 days to slow the spread", let's take a moment to recognize all the heroes of the past year:

Janelle - who continues to keep her video on despite her transparent look of contempt for these meetings and the people in them.

Roy - who finally learned how to unmute himself sometime in Mid-December.

And, of course, Sue Ann - who continues to dress up for every one of these Zooms as if she's attending debutante balls in Antebellum South Carolina.

Now, I know we're all itching to meet again in person, right?

At least I am. Because the agony of those redundant time-sucks was at least made tolerable by the absence of barking dogs and my kids performing flying-elbow-drops-off-the-top-ropes on my head while I'm trying to deliver earnings reports.

But while we're still on Zoom, let's make the best of it, yeah?

Joe - how about a fun background? No, not that one. There's nothing fun about that picture of your unkempt backyard. I know how much you make. You can afford a lawnmower, for chrissakes.

Monique - tell us a story! Any story. About anything. Literally anything. We're dying here. Help.

Alright...Hector, you have a joke you can share, don't you? You don't? Go on the internet and find a joke. Please. Even one that'll get us written up by HR. Especially one that'll get us written up by HR.

It's ok, team. We won't have these meetings for much longer.

I'm confident that by this summer, this will be a distant memory.

And we'll all be meeting on Microsoft Teams instead."
