Honest moment...

Honest moment...

Honest moment. Here I am in my previous life, working as a Chartered Accountant in the Big Smoke. I don’t regret working in this career for over ten years, but here’s what I’d do differently.

??I would have looked after myself more instead of burning the candles at both ends.

??I would have prioritised my friends and family over my job - a big mistake at the time.

??I would have been myself, rather than trying to fit the mould which was never me!

??I would have spent less time worrying about how others perceived me.

??I would have switched back to science and nutrition earlier than I did.

??I would have worn comfier clothes!

??I would have stopped trying to be part of the boys club (as I failed every time!).

??I would have given more to others that needed it.

??I would have been kinder to myself.

??I would have stopped myself from living up to the expectations of others and do what I thought was best.

Are there times in your life that you look back on with nostalgia and happy memories mixed with sorrow and disbelief?

Sometimes it is good to take a moment and reflect on the past to see how far you have come or use it as an opportunity to reset and be grateful for what you have and plan what you would like to achieve next.

Working in large corporations was always an ambition of mine, and I loved it at the time, but now I realise that I could have done things differently, but then again, I might not be where I am now if that was the case.

Can you relate?
