Got a rental car and check ($1500) from other party's insurance company (NJ Skylands) as decided to go through them. Brought the car to body shop and found out NJ Skylands wants to cheat and pay less. So I called my insurance company (State Farm) and reopened the claim to go through them. State Farm took deductible and issued a check for $1788. Body shop wants to get $2788 for repair. Can I still use that check for $1500 to cover the rest of expanses?

I'm wondering something about car insurance. I am a 17 year old male, (turning 18 in 1 month) and have been driving a 2001 Hyundai accent since October. I was hit by my next door neighbour who we have another dispute with beforehand. My side of the road was clear and I'd just pulled off, he came up the road passing 2 parked cars on the wrong side of the road, causing damage to my front wing, trying to lessen the damage I headed up the kurb damaging my new 250 alloy wheel! How I filled out my claim form and so did he. My insurance co. have now contacted me wanting to know why I told them the accident happened where it did when he has said it happened in another location further round the corner.
