Hi Amirah! Could you tell us about what you do at HomeTeamNS as an Events and Sales Executive, what your job entails?
I am based in HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir. My responsibilities include interacting with prospects and clients and elevating their entire experience with us. From handling their enquiries, viewing the venue, and planning their event, to finally becoming their venue coordinator on the event date itself. ??
What do you think are some key skills that your job requires you to have?
Adaptability, quick thinking, good communication and listening skills, and team collaboration with both internal and external partners.
What are three words that you would use to describe working at HomeTeamNS?
Delightful, Dynamic, and Demanding.
What are some events that you’ve overseen or worked on? Are there any interesting stories that you’ve taken away from them?
My most memorable event has to be the official opening of HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir. Despite working on a tight schedule and limited resources, our team, all being new, seamlessly adapted to each other, and fostered an instant sense of unity and family.
The takeaway from the event is that we always have to make it happen and that the show must go on regardless of the unexpected challenges or changes.
Do you have a favourite event that you’ve worked on so far? Why?
Coordinating and planning our first Wedding Showcase! We collaborated with one of our catering partners and met spectacular vendors who transformed our visions into reality – there were stunning décor, a bridal runway show, a solo saxophonist performance etc. Close to 120 couples signed up on that day!
What have you learned from your experience in events and sales thus far? Could you elaborate on your key takeaways?
I have learned about the importance of balancing being assertive while still practicing empathy when communicating with persistent clients and vendors who may push our company’s boundaries or policies.
Was there something you’ve experienced through your job that changed your perspective on working in sales and events?
It’s more than just numbers and hitting targets. It’s about the art of listening to our HomeTeamNS members and clients and trying our best to accommodate to their requests and how we can turn their event envisions into reality. This will create a positive and memorable experience for both parties.

At HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir, we’re close to nature. Our view is overlooking the serene sight of the reservoir, away from the hustle and bustle of the city crowd. Furthermore, both HomeTeamNS Bedok Reservoir & Khatib’s event spaces feature high ceilings and pillarless designs. Mostly, it’s friendly on your pocket!

I find joy in attending live musicals and plays and watching movies centered around the magical world of musicals.
What’s something that’s always in your refrigerator?
Parmesan cheese and lemons.

A country that you’ve travelled to that you would love to go again?
Italy! I fell in love with their quaint laid-back towns with stunning landscapes and all things pistachio.
