HomeServe brings Ohio Homeowner Peace of Mind

Dana had a sewer line backup and it could have been a disaster, but she wasn't on her own -- she had a HomeServe plan & knew just what to do.

Dana L. of Twinsburg, Ohio, was experiencing an unpleasant problem – a sewer backup.??

She showered, then went down to wash a load of laundry.?

“I noticed a pretty foul smell,” she said. “I opened the laundry room door to find out it was flooded.”??

Not only that, but her downstairs bathroom also experienced a backup and was flooded. She didn’t dare use her bathrooms or her laundry facilities, lest she compound the problem and send even more sewage into her home. ?

Not only was Dana appreciative of receiving prompt service, but she also liked that she was kept informed about when to expect a technician at her home. ?

“Of course, I signed up for that, so I know, every step of the way, what’s going on, when to expect a phone call and when to expect a service person.”?

When Dana called HomeServe and reported her issue, Ciro’s Sewer Cleaning was dispatched to address her issue, and they snaked the sewer line with a root cutter attachment, pulling out a large glob of roots. Dana has a clay sewer line, which is the type of pipe roots love. They seek out clay sewer lines, finding joints or small cracks on their quest for water and nutrients that fuel their growth. As they force their way inside and grow, they create clogs, stopping household waste from passing. ?

“Ciro’s has been great,” she said. “They are one of the only service providers I’ve worked with that didn’t give you a window this big, saying they would be out some time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and then you get a call at 3:30 p.m., saying that they are on their way. They normally give me about an hour window, and they have been true to that.”??

“They come out, they explain what they are doing,” she said.?

I’m not going to my local community Facebook page, saying, ‘oh my goodness, I have a sewer backup, who should I call?’ because you don’t know who to call. Snaking a sewer line is the kind of blocking & tackling work that we do day in and day out for our customers.?Even though this was only a couple hundred dollars do to and savings for the customer - its the convenience, service experience and peace of mind we give our customers that is the REAL value.??
