Homeschool Diaries - Part VI
Detailed Learning Schedule 2
An effective preschool planner should be a balance of all the curriculum components. The key to achieving this balance is in time. Early learners have short attention spans unless an activity engages their interest. Such activities are usually the ones where the early learner takes off on a self-learning journey without the intervention of an adult. These activities can be reserved to a different time and not be mixed with the homeschool time.
In our homeschool, we must provide a time limit for activities. This helps to keep the child engaged in different activities with feeling oppressed by any one or the other.
Let’s see a sample breakup for a 2 (PG,Nur)/ 3 (Jr.,Sr.) hour class:
*Please note for Jr./Sr. KG I have not added additional regional language option such as Hindi. You can add an additional 10 minutes to accommodate the same every alternate day.
I'm not an advocate of stringent time limits so please do note these are indicative. You can increase the length of activities to suit your child.
In the above example, you can be flexible and adjust the timing as per your child’s learning approach.
Next, I will guide you to add specific activities for the time table.
I create resources for other teachers to allow them more time to on the important stuff......forming relationships. We all know you have to relate to educate.
4 年I love that this schedule on has them sitting for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. Making sure to include music and movement activities is SO important for this age group. It allows them to "get their wiggles out" and refocus. Very nice post.
