#3 Hawkr's Digest: Homemade or Storebought?

???Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane

Do you remember the last time you had delicious homemade cookies or Chinese New Year snacks freshly baked in your grandma’s kitchen?

Times have changed since then and the number of homebaked goods have decreased whilst factory-produced cookies are booming due to efficiency and demands.

As a Gen-Z, I must say that I deeply miss times where I would help my grandma to make pineapple tarts and cakes for the festive season. There will always be a mess in the kitchen and sneakily eating the pineapple filling.

?? A missing piece from years ago

Nowadays, you can walk into any store or supermarket and find Chinese New Year cookies but it feels like a part of what makes it delicious is missing. The excitement and bonding time with our families while baking the snacks and getting ready for the celebration is what makes us go back to craving them. Nostalgic tastes and memories from years ago still linger.

For KL Friends :

Eat Kitchen has a variety of homebaked Chinese New Year cookies available such as pineapple tarts, kampung egg kuih kapit, handmade ngahku chips, etc.?

Sue Jelly Cakes and Deli has some amazing Chinese New Year themed jellies which are bound to impress your family when you are sharing it to them.?
