Homeless Entrepreneur: Carlos Marchena. Part 1.

Last April, Carlos was evicted and became homeless, ending up in a legal limbo without funds and social support. His friends turned their backs on him, and his family back in Venezuela could not assist Carlos due to their own financial struggles.

Carlos was born into a humble but supportive Venezuelan family and had a happy childhood. Sadly, he was forced to move abroad due to an unstable political situation and a lack of prospects. After getting a scholarship from Fundación Carolina, he moved to Spain.

Carlos received degrees in law and risk management in Venezuela, Spain, and Colombia, along with a degree in digital marketing. He finished web development courses on IBM SkillsBuild, AWS re/Start, Udacity, Udemy, and FreeCodeCamp, becoming a recognised specialist and, in time, a valued mentor.

Carlos' life took a dark turn when several issues struck at once: his business had failed, and he couldn't find a job to justify the visa renewal. Worst of all, his Venezuelan passport had expired, and Carlos did not have the time or money necessary to receive a new one.

Thankfully, he reached out to the Homeless Entrepreneur’s Helpline (+34 697 877 089), securing funding and support for his newest project. Carlos was a perfect fit, since the foundation supports caring, creative, active citizens. Now he has everything he needs to get back on his feet.
